What is the best transfer from Narita Airport to Tokyo?+
It depends on the neighborhood and group. Narita Express is direct to Tokyo, Shibuya and Shinjuku with reserved seats and luggage space. Keisei Skyliner is fastest for Ueno and convenient for an onward JR connection. Airport buses reduce luggage handling when they stop near the hotel. A taxi becomes easier for a larger group but remains much more expensive from Narita.
What is the cheapest way from Haneda Airport to central Tokyo?+
Keikyu or Tokyo Monorail with a local connection is usually the lowest-cost choice for one or two travelers. The exact winner depends on whether the hotel is closer to Shinagawa, Hamamatsucho, Asakusa or another station. The calculator prices the relevant route for the selected destination area.
Should I take HARUKA or Nankai from Kansai Airport?+
Nankai is the natural rail choice for Namba and Dotonbori. HARUKA is direct to Osaka, Shin-Osaka and Kyoto and is especially attractive when an eligible visitor buys the discounted one-way ticket in advance. Airport buses can be easier for Umeda, Kyoto hotels or Universal Studios when their timetable fits.
What happens when my flight lands after the last train?+
The calculator adds a selected immigration and baggage buffer to the landing time, then compares that ready time with each option's typical service window. Options close to or outside that window are penalized and clearly flagged. Always check the live timetable for the exact date because this is a planning screen, not a booking engine.
When is a taxi or private transfer worth it?+
A road transfer becomes more competitive when several adults can split one vehicle, the hotel is far from a direct station, the group has multiple large bags, mobility is limited or public transport has stopped. The calculator scales vehicle count to both people and luggage rather than dividing one small taxi across an unrealistic group.
Does the airport transfer calculator include child fares?+
Yes. Adults and children aged 6 to 11 are priced separately using published child fares. Infants are shown as free on public transport for planning, with a reminder to confirm operator rules and child-seat requirements. Vehicle capacity includes every traveler.
How does the Fukuoka international terminal change the trip?+
Fukuoka Airport's subway station is at the domestic terminal. For an international arrival, the calculator adds the free inter-terminal shuttle time and one extra transfer to subway options. Direct buses and taxis start from the international terminal and do not receive that penalty.
