Yoshinoyama
Yoshinoyama (Mount Yoshino) in Nara Prefecture is Japan's most celebrated cherry blossom destination, with some 30,000 trees spread across four ascending tiers — Shimo, Naka, Kami, and Oku Senbon — that bloom in staggered waves each spring. As part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site 'Sacred Sites and Pilgrimage Routes in the Kii Mountain Range,' it has also been a center of Shugendo mountain worship for over 1,200 years.
